To obtain grades for each six weeks (second through fifth).   Mrs. Choate does not require the students to do Accelerated Reading  the first or the last six weeks.   This chart is based on an average for 9^th through 12 grades from the Renaissance Learning Goal Setting Chart, for 20 minutes of daily reading practice.  At times, this could be done in any class when students have finished other work, or during free time in any class or during a period of “USSR”.    Mrs. Choate did say that she would like to have some days of the un-sustained silent reading, to encourage the students to read more and participate in the program. 

For extra test grade:

A for the six weeks                14 points/85% average

B for the six weeks                10 points/85% average

C for the six weeks                6 points/85% average

D for the six weeks                4 points/85% average

F for the six weeks                   0 points/85% average

At the end of the school year, the high school students that have participated and have gone above and beyond the class requirements will be rewarded with the following:

150 points/85% or above average   $50 gift card       

100 points/85% or above average   $30 gift card

75 points/85% or above average     $15 gift card
