Abby Carrasco placed 1st in Div 1 3200 m run and in 1st Div 1st in the 1600 m run.

 March 2, 2012 - Rio Grande Relays at Sanderson, TX

Congratulations to the Varsity Track and Field Eagles at Friday's Rio Grande Relays!

William Roberts placed 1st in the 1600 meter race with a time of 4:35:27, 1st in the 800 meter race with a time of 1:57:86** and 3rd in the triple jump  39' 9".
Shawn Stegall placed 1st in the 3200 meter race with a time of 10:24:24 and 3rd in the 1600 with a time of 4:50:27.
Jalen Chriesman placed 1st in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 43:49 and 1st in the 100 meter hurdles race with a time of 17:36.
Joseph Carrasco placed 6th in the 3200 meter race with a time of 11:33:36 and 7th in the 1600 meter race with a time of 5:11

Abby Carrasco placed 1st in the 3200 meter race with a time of 12:16:99**, 1st in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:30:24** and 2nd in the High Jump with a height of 4' 4".
Brianna Lozano placed 4th in the 200 meter race with a time of 29.39 and 5th in the 400 meter race with a time of 1:08:17

Congratulations to the boys 4x400 meter relay team for placing 2nd with a time of 3:45:99! Team members are Abraham Orozco, Jalen Chriesman, Shawn Stegal and William Roberts

Congratulations to the boys team for placing 3rd with 6 boys and to the girls team for placing 6th with 4 girls!

Congratulations to the boys’ and girls’ Eagle Track teams on their wins at Crane this past weekend.

Abby Carrasco was 1st in the 3200 m run and 2nd in the 800 m run.

Joseph Carrasco won 1st in the JV 1600m & 3200.

Abraham Orozco was 1st in the 800 and 4th in the 400.

Shawn Stegall placed 3rd in 1600m & 4th in the 3200.


William Roberts ran 5th at Texas Relays in Austin.

Congratulations the Sanderson Eagles at the HS Area Track and Field Meet held in Wink! 

Those with 1st-4th place finishes are going to the Regional Track & Field Championships in Levelland, TX on the 27th and 28th of April! 

Abby Carrasco-1st 3200 and 1st 1600. 

Brianna Lozano-3rd 200 m. 

William Roberts--1st 800m & 1st 1600m

Shawn Stegall--1st 3200m & 2nd 1600m

Jalen Chriesman--3rd 110H & 2nd 300H

Joseph Carrasco--2nd 3200m & 5th 1600m

All of these athletes will compete in the Regional Meet in Levelland April 27 & 28.

Mile Relay of Jalen Chriesman, Abraham Orozco, Shawn Stegall, & William Roberts placed 5th.

Congrats to the following track athletes at the Region 1-1A Track & Field Championships held in Levelland, TX

William Roberts-  1st in 800m & 1st in 1600.  William is the new record holder in both of these events.  William broke the 1979 record in the 800 and in the 1600 he broke the 1975 record held by Sanderson Eagle Ricky Marquez. 

Shawn Stegall Placed - 1st in 3200m. 

Both William and Shawn will be representing Sanderson boys at the State track meet.

Joseph Carrasco placed 3rd in 3200m.

Overall the boys’ SHS Track team was 3rd place...SHS Team missed being runner-up by one point. 

We are very proud of these young men and Coach Dominguez.

In girls’ track, Abby Carrasco placed 3rd in both the 3200m run and the 1600m run.  Abby will be going to State as the Wild Card in the 1600m run. 

Congrats to Abby and Coach Nichols.
