• Board of Trustees

    Guiding the Terrell County Independent School District toward excellence is the seven-member Board of Trustees. Trustees represent community expectations as they direct educational programs and services, establish policy, approve the budget and monitor expenditures, set the tax rate, and call for bond elections.

    The Board of Trustees meets monthly on the third Wednesday at 7:00 PM in the Jr/Sr High School Conference Room. The public is welcome to attend.

    5 Year  Goals (2018-2023)

    Goal 1:  Terrell County ISD/Sanderson Schools will support high academic standards.

    • By 2023, TCISD will increase the academic performance of all students by having 75% of all students on or above grade level according to STAAR and various other test measures to support the academic growth and TEKS levels.

     

    Goal 2:  Terrell County ISD/Sanderson Schools will use effective instructional strategies.

    • By 2023, 100% of all TCISD instructional staff members will utilize and implement current and relevant instructional strategies to support the instructional needs of all students.

     

    Goal 3:  Terrell County ISD/Sanderson Schools will recruit, develop, and support highly motivated staff members who maximize student success.

    • By 2023, 90% of all TCISD instructional staff members will hold a certification for the course/s they teach.

     

    Goal 4:  Terrell County ISD/Sanderson Schools will prepare technologically advanced students.

    • By 2023, TCISD will have a technology device for each student to utilize daily, in order to increase the skills required for success in post-secondary education, military, the workforce and the digital age.

     

    Goal 5:  Terrell County ISD/Sanderson Schools will provide facilities that support exemplary learning environments.

    • By 2023, TCISD will have 75% of the required facility updates and maintenance updates completed to support an exemplary learning environment.

     

    Goal 6:  Terrell County ISD/Sanderson Schools will fully develop positive partnerships with Terrell County’s community and business organizations.

     

    Goal 7:  Terrell County ISD/Sanderson Schools will exercise fiscal responsibility

    • By 2023, TCISD will be fiscally sound and will have $750,000 in the fund balance.

    5-Year Student Outcome Goals (2018-2023)

     

    Student Outcome Goals

    Goal 1:            

    By 2023, Terrell County ISD will increase the STAAR percentage at “Meets Grade Level” for all grades, for two or more subjects, from 44% to 75%.

    • GPM: By 2021, Terrell County ISD will increase the STAAR percentage of “Meets Grade Level” for all grades in reading from 51% to 65%.
    • GPM: By 2021, Terrell County ISD will increase the STAAR percentage of “Meets Grade Level” for all grades in math from 77% to 85%.
    • GPM: By 2021, Terrell County ISD will increase the STAAR percentage of “Meets Grade Level” for all grades in writing from 65% to 75%.

    Goal 2:

    By 2023, TCISD will increase high school student Career and Technology Education Certifications (CTS) from 0% to 50%.

    • GPM: By 2020, Terrell County ISD will increase high school student CTE Certifications from 0% to 20%. 
    • GPM: By 2021, Terrell County ISD will increase high school student CTE Certification from 20% to 30%.
    • GPM: By 2022, Terrell County ISD will increase high school student CTE Certifications from 30% to 40%.

    Goal 3:

    By 2023, Terrell County ISD will increase “on-grade-level” reading for Kindergarten through 2nd from 42% to 80%, as measured through Istation.

    • GPM: By 2021, Terrell County ISD’s “on-grade-level” reading for Kindergarten students will increase from 38% to 60%.
    • GPM: By 2021, Terrell County ISD’s “on-grade-level” reading for 1st grade students will increase from 29% to 60%.
    • GPM: By 2021, Terrell County ISD’s “on-grade-level” reading for 2nd grade students will increase from 59% to 75%.
